Clinical Laboratory: Camden Labs
Camden Laboratories is a high complexity, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory that services Texas Liver Institute patients.
As an operating affiliate of American Research Corporation (ARC) Innovations, Camden Laboratories also serves as a central laboratory to support the laboratory service needs of clinical research trials for both pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations. It is this affiliation with ARC, a pioneer in clinical research for Hepatitis C, liver and renal disease, which affords the opportunity for Camden Laboratories to participate in this niched interest ARC has in Infectious Diseases.
Camden Laboratories utilizes the latest technology and offers an extensive test menu in the following laboratory disciplines: Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Molecular Testing. The laboratory utilizes the Orchard Harvest™ Laboratory Information System (LIS) for the management of the test database, the client database, patient information, patient lab results, equipment interfaces and the report delivery process.
Clinical Laboratory Services and Instrumentation:
- Ortho Diagnostics VITROS 5600 Integrated System – Chemistry and Immunoassays
- Sysmex XT 2000i – Hematology (CBC, Retic Count, Platelet Count, Auto Diff)
- Diagnostica Stago STA Satellite – Coagulation (PT, INR, PTT)
- Siemens Clinitek Status – Urinalysis, Chemical
Molecular Laboratory Services and Instrumentation:
- Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman HCV, v2.0 IVD
- Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman HIV-1, v2.0 IVD
- GenMark Dx eSensor Genotype Analyzer HCV Direct Test
The Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman HCV, v2.0 IVD and COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman HIV-1, v2.0 IVD use Real-Time RTPCR with dual probes and built-in redundancy to ensure accurate results across genotypes. Viral quantification is fully automated on the COBAS® AmpliPrep / COBAS® TaqMan® System. This system is used by over 250 laboratories in the United States for clinical viral load testing.
The Camden Lab is conveniently located on the second floor of the Texas Liver Institute building.
